NORTHERN Tablelands MP Adam Marshall called in to visit Tingha’s hidden gem earlier last week to announce that the caravan park had secured $47,250 in State Government funding to upgrade the park’s amenities.

Funding was made available through the NSW Government’s 2018-2019 Crown Reserve Improvement Fund.

Mr Marshall was welcomed by the Tingha Gems Caravan Park live-in caretakers and managers Craig and Rebel Bright, who were keen to get the work underway and ready in time for the end-of-year break.

“This funding will be a real shot in the arm for Tingha and allow us now to get essential amenities upgraded and increase visitation,” Mrs Bright said.

“We have a lot of plans to improve visitor experience at the park and this funding will be a big project ticked off and allow us to build a new communal barbecue area as well as refresh the existing amenities and make them more appealing.

“Tingha is a great place for a break and the new amenities will make it even better.”

Mr Marshall commended the Brights who are caretakers and provide management at the park which is a Crown Reserve Trust-managed facility.

“Rebel and Craig are doing a terrific job at the caravan park – continuing to improve the amenity of the park and its visitor numbers – and I look forward to visiting once the upgrades have been made,” Mr Marshall said.

“The caravan park in Tingha it really is a hidden gem and ideally located as a jump off point to to other major destinations such as Copeton Dam, Gwydir River, Green Valley Farm, Inverell Transport Museum as well as enjoying fishing, birdwatching, hiking and fossicking right in Tingha.

“I’m pleased to see the State Government getting g behind Tingha again and helping this park to upgrade facilities and increase revenue in the long term.”
