FREE 2018 LEGAL AID DIARY NOW AVAILABLE FOR OUR LOCAL SENIORS

Monday, 27 November 2017

MEMBER for Northern Tablelands Adam Marshall has today encouraged local seniors from across the region to grab their free copy of the 2018 Legal Aid NSW Legal Topics for Older People Diary, which is now available.

“I encourage our local seniors to please visit my electorate offices in Armidale or Moree for a copy or phone 6772 5552 to order a free copy to be mailed directly to you,” Mr Marshall said.

“The publication, now in its seventh year, combines important legal information with a practical diary and is a very popular and handy resource for our local seniors.

“It contains a wealth of information, including useful telephone numbers and websites and empowers seniors with information about where to turn for help on issues that are important at this stage of their lives.

“Produced in large font, and filled with profound and funny quotes related to ageing, this easy-to-use diary covers a different legal topic every month.

“The chapters cover legal information of relevance to older people, including aged care and retirement villages, financial, family and consumer issues, as well as elder abuse, disputes with neighbours, and future planning.

“Other useful information contained within the diary includes details on how seniors can avoid unwanted telemarketers calls; what seniors need to consider before guaranteeing a loan for a family member and materials on how to stay at home if a partner dies and has children from a previous relationship.

“I commend Legal Aid NSW on producing this popular diary, and trust it will help many of our seniors to learn more about their rights, and the various programs which are available to assist them from fair trading to support for carers to retirement villages – this is a really fantastic resource for our local seniors.”
