GLEN INNES TO STAR ON SYDNEY WEEKENDER THIS SUNDAY

Tuesday, 22 August 2017

NORTHERN Tablelands MP and Minister for Tourism and Major Events Adam Marshall today announced that Glen Innes will be featured in a special episode of Channel Seven’s popular travel show Sydney Weekender, this Sunday, thanks to a NSW Government initiative to promote rural and regional NSW’s top tourism destinations.

Mr Marshall said the show would feature four popular country NSW towns including the beautiful Glen Innes and was secured by the NSW Government’s tourism and major events agency, Destination NSW.

“I’m thrilled that Sydney Weekender will be showcasing Glen Innes this Sunday evening, including some of our significant cultural attractions and boutique accommodation,” he said.

“Three Glen Innes tourism assets will be featured on the show – Three Waters Country Holidays, Reddestone Sapphires, the Australian Standing Stones and The Glass House.

“I cannot wait to see the show and I hope thousands of locals are also tuned in, joining millions across the state who will be exposed to what Glen Innes has to offer.”

Mr Marshall said the episode would also feature Indigenous history and luxury accommodation in Wagga Wagga, the Deni Ute Muster and the local fresh produce at the Taste Riverina Festival.

“Growing tourism in rural and regional NSW is a key priority for the NSW Government and as the Minister for Tourism, I’m committed to ensuring every part of NSW reaps the benefits of our record investment,” Mr Marshall said.

“Securing media coverage on popular TV shows like Sydney Weekender helps to promote our region’s great tourism products to a wide audience and I look forward to welcoming more visitors to regional and rural NSW as result of this great initiative.”

Tune into the Seven Network at 5.30pm this Sunday (27 August 2017) to watch the Sydney Weekender episode.
