A CASH splash of $10,000 from the State Government is coming the way of the Bingara Swimming Club to invest in new uniforms and equipment, Northern Tablelands MP Adam Marshall announced today.
Mr Marshall said it was fantastic to drop into the Club last to deliver the good news to pool staff and locals enjoying a refreshing dip.
“This is terrific news for Bingara Swimming Club, which is a busy and active community group with a growing membership base,” Mr Marshall said.
“The much-needed funds will be used to purchase new uniforms and upgrade equipment at the Bingara Swimming Pool to support the activities of the Club.
“It will also be used to provide for coaching opportunities for interested community members which is a terrific idea.”
President of Bingara Swimming Club Casey McClymont said the funding was appreciated and would be put to good use.
“The funding will be used to supply uniforms to our active swimming club participants in the 24/25 season and to purchase some new equipment to help facilitate our Club nights and training sessions,” Ms McClymont said.
“We will also use the funding to help some interested community members attain their coaching certifications with the view to assisting the club to provide additional tutelage to any interested swimming club members. These activities will include stroke correction and squad training among other opportunities.
“We are a small club with a lot of passionate swimmers, and we want to give them every opportunity to gain the water confidence and skills they need to be able to thrive in their chosen sport.”
