THE New England Regional Art Museum (NERAM) has secured $4,500 in State Government funding for its 2024 NSW Seniors Festival event, Northern Tablelands MP Adam Marshall announced today.
Mr Marshall said the grant provided NERAM with the opportunity to expand next year’s seniors festival event, making it bigger and better than ever.
“NERAM does a fantastic job each year organising events for our region’s seniors and this extra cash will help bump up the range of activities on offer in 2024,” Mr Marshall said.
“There will be artmaking, theatre activities, wellness activities, live music as well as a guided tour of the gallery on offer at next year’s festival.
“We have so many wonderful seniors in our region and this is our way to thank them for their contribution to the community over many years.
“It was wonderful to personally congratulate Director Rachael Parsons on securing the grant a chat about what NERAM is planning.”
Mr Marshall said the 2024 Seniors Festival would run from Monday 11 to Sunday 24 March.
“Next year’s theme is all about reaching beyond – encouraging seniors to make new friends and try new things,” he said.
“It is about expanding one’s horizons and going beyond the everyday monotony of life.
“It is so important for our seniors to connect with others which reduces social isolation and promotes mental health and wellbeing.”
Mr Marshall said NERAM was among almost 50 organisations across NSW to share in $200,000 of funding for activities and events during the 2024 NSW Seniors Festival.
