MEMBERS and staff of the Bank Art Museum Moree (BAMM) is rejoicing after receiving a $9,000 State Government grant to help employ artists and casual staff to deliver a range of art activities and workshops, Member for Northern Tablelands Adam Marshall announced today.
Mr Marshall said the NSW Rescue and Restart Fund support would bring state-of-the-art programs to Moree’s much-loved art museum.
“Locals and visitors alike just love perusing through the collection of artwork and sculptures at the iconic BAMM and this funding will help spark joy to all involved,” Mr Marshall said.
“Whether artists from the local community, volunteers or participants, I have no doubt this funding will go a long way to support budding art enthusiasts.
“BAMM is an important cultural asset to the Moree district and I’m so pleased the State Government is continuing to support it.”
Moree Cultural Arts Foundation Chair Annabelle Simpson said BAMM was thrilled to receive the funding.
“We are pleased to be able to offer our audiences the same high-quality programming despite experiencing the increased cost of business and staff shortages that are being felt by all businesses in the current climate,” Ms Simpson said.
“This funding will allow BAMM to continue offering high quality education and community arts programs without increasing the cost to our customers.
“Like all businesses, BAMM is experiencing staff shortages as well as extra financial pressure as the costs associated with planned projects increase.
“This funding will help us to continue delivering programs without increasing the cost to our audience.”
Plans for the art activities and workshops at BAMM are currently underway.
