ARMIDALE, INVERELL AND MOREE WELCOME NEW POLICE RECRUITS

Monday, 6 December 2021

MEMBER for Northern Tablelands Adam Marshall has welcomed three new police officers, posted to the New England Police Command today, following the graduation of 226 police recruits in Goulburn last Friday.

The officers are part of the NSW Police Academy’s Class 350, with one probationary constable heading to Armidale Police Station, one to the Inverell and one to Moree.

The arrival of these new recruits takes the number of new police officers the Northern Tablelands has secured in the past three years to 63.

Mr Marshall congratulated the newly-minted police officers on their graduation and decision to make a strong commitment to preventing and disrupting crime.

“I’m thrilled that newly sworn Probationary Constables Isabella, Andrew and Liam will be heading to the Northern Tablelands electorate and joining the wonderful team of officers working hard to keep us all safe,” Mr Marshall said.

“They enjoyed the thrill and spectacle of the attestation parade at the Goulburn Police Academy last Friday and reported for duty this morning.

“As always, they will have a warm welcome form their colleagues and our communities across the region.”

These officers join a NSW Police Force that has been strengthened by investment from the NSW Government, including the delivery of 1,500 additional officers over four years.

“I commend all the hardworking police officers and the support staff in all our stations across the Northern Tablelands.” Mr Marshall said.

“It has been a challenging time over the past 18 months and our wonderful police force has been the backbone of our communities in that time.

“They have provided important support in all ways through the pandemic, from delivering essential goods to isolated communities to keeping the peace – I commend them all.”
