BLUE LINE BOOSTED WITH THREE NEW POLICE FOR MOREE & ARMIDALE

Tuesday, 12 October 2021

MEMBER for Northern Tablelands Adam Marshall has welcomed three new police officers posted to the New England Police Command today, following the graduation of 226 new recruits from the Goulburn Police Academy last Friday.

The officers are part of the Academy’s Class 349, with two probationary constables assigned to Moree Police Station and one to Armidale.

The arrival of these new recruit takes the number of new police officers the Northern Tablelands has secured in the past three years to 60.

Mr Marshall congratulated the newly-minted police officers on their graduation and decision to make a strong commitment to preventing and disrupting crime.

“It’s always great news when we can welcome additional officers to our communities in the Northern Tablelands,” Mr Marshall said.

“These officers have slogged it out and shown great tenacity and commitment to law and order, just by successfully graduation from the police academy today, and I trust they are keen to get to work.

“They will be joining their stations on Monday and I am confident they will receive a warm welcome from their new colleagues and communities.”

This officer will join a NSW Police Force that has been strengthened by investment from the NSW Government, including the delivery of 1,500 additional officers over four years.

“I commend all the hardworking police officers and the support staff in all our stations across the Northern Tablelands.” Mr Marshall said.

“It has been a challenging time over the past 18 months and our wonderful police force has been the backbone of our communities in that time.

“They have provided important support in all ways through the pandemic, from delivering essential goods to isolated communities to keeping the peace – I commend them all.”
