BUSINESSES URGED TO REGISTER FOR NEW DINE & DISCOVER STIMULUS

NORTHERN Tablelands MP Adam Marshall has today encouraged eligible businesses across the region to register and participate in the State Government’s new major economic stimulus program, Dine & Discover NSW.

Mr Marshall said the program would provide hip pocket relief by offering every NSW resident, aged 18 years and over, four $25 vouchers, to spend in participating businesses, such as pubs, clubs, cafes and restaurants.

“The program has been created as economic boost for dining, arts and tourism businesses, which have been impacted by COVID-19,” Mr Marshall said.

“It is no secret the financial toll drought, bushfires and the pandemic have taken on the local economy.”

Mr Marshall said local businesses should lodge their interest early so they are ready when the program goes live next month.

“Businesses can register now online through their MyServiceNSW Business Profile, with operators able to track the progress of the application through that same portal,” he said.

“Business owners will receive a step-by-step process on how to prepare, including the need for them to have a phone or tablet to scan and accept vouchers using the Service NSW for business app.

“This is a game-changing initiative which will see much needed dollars flowing into the tills of Mum and Dad businesses.”

All eligible businesses will receive an email from Service NSW with details on how to register.

Service NSW is also launching a specialised app, so businesses can scan and track voucher usage over the life of the program.

The program will be rolled out in a few steps to ensure a seamless customer experience.

The vouchers issued to each person will be divided into two categories:

  • Two $25 vouchers to be used for eating at restaurants, cafes, bars, pubs and clubs from Monday to Thursday, excluding public holidays; and
  • Two $25 vouchers to be used for entertainment and recreation, including cultural institutions, live music and arts venues, available 7 days a week, excluding public holidays.

The vouchers can only be used within businesses that have implemented a COVID Safety Plan and are registered as COVID Safe.
