EMMAVILLE Pony Club members are jumping for joy with news they have been successful in securing a $9,647 grant under the NSW Local Sports Grant Program for the purchase of new equestrian equipment, Northern Tablelands MP Adam Marshall has announced today.
Mr Marshall said he was thrilled to drop into the Club and deliver the good news in person to members at their home base in Dundee.
“This is terrific news for the Emmaville Pony Club, which will allow them to invest in showjumping equipment as well as upgrade existing equipment to ensure it meets new safety standards,” Mr Marshall said.
“The welcomed funding will help the Club go from strength-to-strength, expanding its membership base, while allowing current members to enjoy a wider range of equestrian activities including polocrosse.
“Emmaville Pony Club is a hive of activity and popular spot for local youngsters, and I’m so pleased they have been successful in receiving this grant.”
Secretary of Emmaville Pony Club Eliza Smith said the funds would help the Club purchase additional showjumping equipment as well as upgrade existing jumping equipment to meet new safety standards.
“The grant will enable us to build a full jumping course for competitions as our budding young jumpers are jumping higher,” Ms Smith said.
“With growing interest in stock horse challenges and competitions, we will purchase a utility gate to build skills and confidence in this obstacle both in time trial and utility events and for riding around at home.
“Polocrosse has always been a popular activity for riders of all ages at rally days and pony camps using balls and racquets borrowed from members.
“This grant will allow us to purchase polocrosse equipment of our own.”
