MORE PROVIDERS NEEDED AS $50 STAY NSW VOUCHERS GO LIVE

Tuesday, 22 February 2022

NORTHERN Tablelands MP Adam Marshall is today urging more local accommodation providers to sign-up and participate in the State Government’s Stay NSW program, with $50 vouchers made available from next week.

Mr Marshall said from Wednesday, 2 March 2022, residents in every one of the region’s local government areas (LGA) will be able to register to access their $50 voucher.

“At the height of the COVID-19 restrictions, the message from accommodation providers was more needed to be done to support those whose income had been decimated by lockdowns,” Mr Marshall said.

“Operating like the successful Dine and Discover Program, Stay NSW is accessed through the Service NSW app and aimed at encouraging people to travel and enjoy a staycation, in NSW.

“Applying is fast and simple via the Service NSW mobile app, through the Service NSW website or by calling 13 77 88 for assistance.

“People can pool the $50 Stay NSW Vouchers with relatives or mates, with no redemption limit. Apply as soon as you can so you can check-in somewhere special and check-out somewhere new.”

Mr Marshall said while there were more than 1,200 Stay NSW businesses now registered, at the moment there were very few registered in the region, meaning many local businesses could miss out from cashing in on this new voucher program.

“It is not too late for accommodation providers to get on board with the vouchers, valid until 9 October, 2022,” Mr Marshall said.

“In the Northern Tablelands there has been very few registrations for participating providers so far.

“Based on postcode, Armidale (2350) has the highest registrations with five venues, then Moree (2400) with only one.

“Coming from someone who spends a lot of time on the road, we have some of the best quality and most accommodating motel, hotel and caravan parks anywhere.

“I would love to see every accommodation provider in every one of our towns be involved and benefit financially from this program.”
