NORTHERN Tablelands MP Adam Marshall has today announced that Moree Family Support will continue as a lead agency supporting the community’s pandemic recovery, with the service allocated $87,145 through the State Government’s COVID-19 Partnership and Regional Partnership Grant.
The allocation is in addition to funding which was provided to three local organisations, including Moree Family Support, in October 2021, to cover the cost of food delivery, essential items and medical supplies.
Mr Marshall said while NSW moved into a state of pandemic recovery, there would still be some households who found themselves in COVID-19 isolation and in need of essential items.
“Despite eased restrictions there are still vulnerable and elderly residents, or single person households, who will need help if they contract COVID-19,” Mr Marshall said.
“Moree Family Support will play a lead role in guiding the community through this next stage of the pandemic, providing emergency funds for essential items for those in isolation, emotional and trauma support.
“This next tranche of funding will cover exceptional circumstances only, with applications to be assessed and approved by a local panel.
“Through its various youth, homelessness and family programs, Moree Family Support is well placed to get assistance to those who are in immediate need.
“Administering COVID-19 emergency programs has been a huge task for our locally based social services and I recognise all which have been involved in supporting our communities through this difficult time.”
Those seeking assistance COVID-19 should contact Moree Family Support on 02 6752 4536.
The application criteria for accessing this assistance includes:
- Proof of COVID 19 via PCR or RAT test;
- Must be permanent/regular resident as listed on personal identification (drivers’ licence or ID card);
- Follow NSW Health conditions in relation to the management of COVID 19.
