MOTORISTS ADVISED OF SPEED CHANGES ON STARR ROAD AT GUYRA

MOTORISTS are advised to slow down on Starr Road at Guyra ahead of a speed limit reduction to be implemented from this Thursday, 12 February 2015.

Member for Northern Tablelands Adam Marshall said a review of the existing 100km/h speed limit was carried out in line with the NSW Speed Zoning Guidelines and in consultation with Guyra Shire Council.

“The review assessed a number of factors including surrounding roadside development, traffic movements and crash data,” he said.

“The existing speed limit of 100km/h on Starr Road from 350m west of Elm Street to 50m east of Pearson Street will be reduced to 50km/h.

“This change reflects the increased level of roadside development and aims to improve safety for all road users.

“Motorists are reminded the new speed limit applies once the speed limit signs are installed by council.”
