NORTHERN Tablelands MP Adam Marshall has today said that he fully supported the decisions of Uralla and Guyra Shire Councils to stand alone in response to the Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal’s (IPART) assessment of the Fit for the Future report.
Mr Marshall said that councils across NSW were required to make their submissions to the State Government by tomorrow afternoon and that he would be backing Uralla and Guyra’s position to stand-alone.
“Last night Uralla Shire Council voted to continue to stand alone and this afternoon Guyra Shire Council did the same,” Mr Marshall said.
“As I made very clear from the start of this process, I will stand side-by-side with my councils and their communities and take their positions forward to the government in the strongest possible terms.
“With community meetings held in Uralla and Guyra last week, the councils and their communities have now spoken and their views should be respected.
“Being a local member is about supporting your local communities through good and bad and I’ll continue to back Uralla, Guyra and all my councils to the hilt.”
