THE New England Nomads Juniors Australian Football Club are keeping score with a $4,420 grant under the NSW Local Sports Grant Program for new uniforms and a portable scoreboard, Member for Northern Tablelands Adam Marshall announced today.
Mr Marshall said he was thrilled to deliver the goal-kicking news in person to President Matt Pine and members at their home base of the University of New England (UNE).
“Well done to the New England Junior Nomads – this news has come at the right time for the club at the beginning of their season and will help them go from strength-to-strength,” Mr Marshall said.
“The funding has been used to purchase a full set of new uniforms as well as a new portable scoreboard that can be used at the club’s home ground at Bellevue Oval.
“Youngsters can now enjoy a game of football with new playing outfits, which looking spectacular and fair score keeping.”
New England Nomads Juniors AFL President Matt Pine said the club was excited to receive the funding.
“The New England Nomads Junior Australian Football Club are extremely grateful to be successful recipients of the NSW Government Local Sports Grant Program for 2023/24,” Mr Pine said.
“The money received has helped us to purchase a brand-new set of playing uniforms and a new portable scoreboard.
“This has allowed the club to reduce the costs of registration for local kids to play Australian Football and will help us to provide a better experience for everyone involved with the club.”
