MEMBER for Northern Tablelands Adam Marshall today congratulated local students who will showcase their talents in this year’s Schools Spectacular in the Qantas Credit Union Arena (formerly Sydney Entertainment Centre) this weekend.
Mr Marshall said students from Northern Tablelands schools will be performing over four performances this Friday and Saturday, 27 and 28 November. The schools include:
- Armidale City Public School
- Armidale High School
- Duval High School
- Inverell High School
- Moree Secondary College
“For 32 years, since the first show testing the acoustics of the new Sydney Entertainment Centre, Schools Spectacular has become a much anticipated event on the school calendar,” Mr Marshall said.
“The show thrills audiences with vibrant music and dance. It features 2,000 dancers, a 1,500-voice choir, an 80-piece symphony orchestra, fantastic rock, jazz, brass and marching bands and spellbinding soloists.
“Students and teachers work incredibly hard to make sure the Spectacular is a must see event and I’m sure our Northern Tablelands representatives will do an outstanding job. I wish them every success.
“This year they will really bring the house down as they have the honour of being one of the last ever shows in the arena.”
Mr Marshall is encouraging anyone who can get to the Schools Spectacular to go and enjoy the show and cheer our Northern Tablelands students.
“It’s a brilliant show,” Mr Marshall said.
“The talents of our Northern Tablelands students and thousands of others from across the state are truly amazing.”
Tickets are available at www.ticketek.com.au for the four afternoon and evening performances on Friday and Saturday with some sessions filling fast.
