NORTHERN Tablelands MP Adam Marshall has today urged local small business operators in need of support following the summer’s devastating bushfires to attend the NSW Government’s Bushfire Regional Roadshow in Glen Innes and Tenterfield next week.
Mr Marshall said the sessions would provide valuable information around disaster assistance and State Government grant eligibility.
“Whether you’re a small agricultural business which had machinery destroyed during the fire or a takeaway store which has suffered a downturn due to fire-affected road closures, the government is working to ensure everyone is supported in their recovery,” Mr Marshall said.
“This road show brings together a wide variety of government services who are able to answer questions on topics such as the Small Business Bushfire Recovery Grant, Disaster Assistance, Volunteer Firefighter Payment, the NSW Bushfire Clean-up, Part Qualification Funding and Workplace Mental Health.
“The road to recovery is going to be long and hard even though the immediate threat passes, people are telling me they are dealing with a great deal of stress and they have lots of questions about what is on offer.”
Small business owners do have to register their interest in attending and can do so by visiting www.nsw.gov.au/bushfireinfosessions.
Small businesses unable to attend the information sessions can find out more about what’s available by visiting https://www.service.nsw.gov.au/campaign/bushfire-customer-care-service.
