MEMBER for Northern Tablelands and NSW Minister for Tourism and Major Events, and Assistant Minister for Skills, Adam Marshall today announced that 32 face-to-face workshops and 11 new on-demand webcasts will be delivered for NSW tourism businesses.
Mr Marshall said the 2018-19 NSW First Program focuses on market-ready product development and the expansion of export-ready products across NSW and will help to develop, promote and sell products to visitors from across Australia and the world.
“I am delighted that tourism operators in Northern Tablelands will have the opportunity to expand their skills and grow their business by attending these fantastic workshops and webcasts, which are being offered through the NSW Government,” he said.
“Our beautiful region has so much on offer and we must ensure that our local tourism operators continue to provide the very best products and experiences to international and domestic visitors.
“The more visitors we can attract, the more heads on hotel beds, diners in restaurants and shoppers in boutiques, all driving the local economy and creating more jobs.”
Mr Marshall said that 2018-19 program includes the addition of two new workshop categories.
“The NSW First Program offers the NSW tourism industry the tools and knowledge needed to gain a competitive edge, and we’re delighted to announce that this year’s program includes two new workshops as well as 11 webcasts, which can be accessed by industry 24/7,” Mr Marshall said.
“We have created a state-wide program that now includes a new Tourism Manager Forum and Tourism Development Workshop to help build product development capacity across rural and regional NSW.
“We know that our local businesses are great champions for their region and we want to make sure that we continue to support them on areas such as regional conferencing, international markets and social media.”
