MEMBER for Northern Tablelands Adam Marshall is urging the community to nominate women volunteers from the Northern Tablelands to be honoured on the NSW Hidden Treasures Honour Roll.
“Women in the Northern Tablelands play a huge role in giving our community its pulse – and our community wouldn’t be what it is today without the hard work of many of these women,” Mr Marshall said.
“The Hidden Treasures Honour Roll is a lasting archive to recognise women volunteers – the unsung heroes of our regional communities.
“Hidden Treasures is our opportunity to say thank you to some outstanding women.
“The NSW Government is honoured to recognise these special women through this important initiative, during National Volunteer Week this week.”
Mr Marshall said nominating a woman in Northern Tablelands for the Honour Roll was easy to do – simply complete your nomination online or download a nomination form and share a few paragraphs about why your nominee is worthy.
“All women nominated will be included in the 2015 Roll which will be launched at the 2015 NSW Rural Women’s Gathering right here in our electorate at Glen Innes on 9 to the 11 October,” Mr Marshall said.
“This is a great chance to shine the spotlight on someone who would usually be working behind the scenes.”
